This will not only help put your date at ease, but it gives them an opportunity to let you know how they operate and communicate. It also shows that you can be a good listener if they want to talk first.

If there is one thing most people enjoy, it’s talking about themselves. Showing interest in a person’s hobbies can make them feel comfortable around you, as well as get them excited to share their favorite things with you. Not to mention it’s the easiest icebreaker in the book and is one of the best ways to get to know someone.
3. Who’s the most interesting person you’ve met?
Who knows they might have an interesting story/anecdote about said person or you might even find out about an interesting mutual friend in the process! This is a good way to gauge what a person finds interesting, or at the very least get some good gossip!

If you’re an avid reader, this line should definitely work wonders! The two of you can discuss favorites and give/get good book recommendations. A person’s favorite book can reveal a lot about them.

This question is a great way to keep conversation flowing, you can show off any useful (or useless) movie trivia you have on hand, and even make plans to watch a few movies together!

This question is a great way to discover more about a person’s lifestyle and whether your lifestyles are compatible. It’s a great way to discover common interests and opens the door for future adventures together! And a great way for the adrenaline junkies to find their adventure buddies.

This is a great way to discover fun phases or obscure interests about your date. You can get to know someone’s funny and weird side, and in many cases it can have the two of you laughing your asses off.
8. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Everybody has a guilty pleasure. They’re lying if they say they don’t! This is a great way to open up to someone and establish trust. Plus, it’s just plain fun to learn about each other’s guilty pleasures.
9. Tell me something interesting about your family or friends?
Once you’ve gotten to know enough about your date, ask about their personal life (friends and/or family). Share something about yourself and your family as well, after all it is a two-way street.
